EMDR Intensives

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly successful treatment for trauma that uses knowledge from neuroscience to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories.

Sometimes we need more than just one hour a week to get to the heart of the issue and create significant change. EMDR Intensives are one way to do this as we set aside a specific period of time, usually 2-3 hours (with breaks) over a couple of days to focus on your healing.

New research shows that intensive therapy for trauma and stress can be extremely effective in reducing symptoms. In adiditon to EMDR I am trained in Polyvagal Theory and Somatic Experiencing, and incorporate these modalities into the EMDR treatment. This type of treatment is known as “interweaves”, and further reduce and resolve symptoms.

Why do an EMDR Intensive?

  • You want to experience deep therapeutic work that can change your life

  • You had a very painful experience that is still impacting you today

  • You are a busy person and just don’t have time for weekly therapy

  • You already go to weekly therapy and you feel stuck or on the verge of a break through.

  • You are feeling overwhlemed by anxiety and want to experience breakthrough

What’s Involved?

The EMDR intensive session takes place in Katy, Texas and is scheduled as a block of time that we work out to fit your schedule. It includes targeted treatment and resourcing activites for you to complete. Unfortunately insurance does not cover this extended session so it would require you to pay out of pocket. This is a specialized treatment approach and is unique, involving a pre session assessment, a workbook for you to complete, a targeted approach to your specific issues and post intensive interview.

An EMDR Intensive can be used to help with:

  • Childhood abuse and neglect

  • Anxiety

  • Religious trauma

  • Medical or chronic illness

  • Car accident or other acute truamatic event

  • Many other situations that are causing you distress

What’s the cost?

An initial 90 minute session is $250. If you would like to book an intensive for three hours, the cost is $750. A booking fee of $375 is required to secure your place with the remainer to be paid at the start of the intensive.
